Planned Giving

Planned giving is a way to support your favorite charities as well as support your community. A planned gift can be implemented during your lifetime, or as part of your estate. Anyone, regardless of income level, can make a tremendous impact through a planned gift to a charity. It is a relatively simple process and can help minimize taxes for yourself and/or your beneficiaries.

A charitable bequest is simply a distribution from your estate to a charitable organization through your last will and testament. It is important that you carefully review the terms of your will with a professional trained in handling trusts and estates. General bequests are legacies left to certain people or causes that come from the general value of the estate, and are made by designating a specific dollar amount, a particular asset or a fixed percentage of your estate.

General bequest language: I give, devise and bequeath to the Give Hope Foundation, a nonprofit corporation of the State of Nevada, Federal Tax ID #20-2472387, located at 6121 Lakeside Drive, Suite 125, Reno, NV 89511: (list gift: percentage, specific, or residual bequest, real personal property, shares of stock, life insurance, securities, trusts, IRA's)

In addition to making an impact and helping your charity, there can be many benefits to the donor in making a planned gift:

- Reduce income tax
- Reduce or eliminate estate taxes on property in your estate
- Reduce or eliminate built in capital-gain tax on appreciated property, such as stock or real estate that you have owned for more than one year
